The American Inventors Protection Act of 2005 brought significant changes to the American Patent Law. This Act added:
1. an earlier invention defense for business method patents;
2. publication of U.S. patent applications for foreign published applications;
3. patent term restoration for delays caused by the Patent and Trademark Office;
4. Request for Continued Examination (RCE) of patent prosecution procedure; and
5. disclosure requirements for Invention promotion firms.
