Assignment of Copyright Law & Legal Definition

Assignment of copyright is the transfer or setting over to another by the owner of a copyright of his/her entire interest or a part of his/her interest in the copyright. Since copyright is a private right it is transmissible by assignment. An assignment carries with it the whole interest in the thing assigned, including the right to reassign.
