Bird's nest custody is a joint custody arrangement where the children of the separated or divorced parents remain in the family home and the parents take turns moving in and out to live with the children. It is a form of access or custody where the children stay in the former family residence and it is the parents who rotate in and out separately and on a predetermined/negotiated schedule on a regular basis.
