Certified Copy Law & Legal Definition
Certified copy is a duplicate of an original document which is certified as an exact reproduction by the officer responsible for issuing or keeping the original. The person who issued or is keeping the original affirms or swears that the copy and the original have been compared and that the copy is an exact reproduction of the original. This is also called an attested copy or verified copy.
