Disaffirm Law & Legal Definition

Disaffirm generally means to deny or repudiate. The term is often used in contract law to refer to the power of a minor to deny responsibility for a contract. Laws vary by state, but generally minors are bound for contracts for necessities. Other contracts are valid unless disaffirmed within reasonable time after reaching age of majority and making restitution where possible of consideration given.
