Guardian by Statute Law & Legal Definition
Guardian by statute is a guardian appointed for a child by a deed or the last will of a father. A guardian by statute will have custody of both the person and property of child. This is applicable only until the child reaches majority. Guardian by statute is also known as testamentary guardian.
