JAG is an abbreviated form of Judge Advocate General. JAG refers to the legal branch of the United States Armed Forces. Judge Advocates advices on a wide variety of issues dealing with administrative law, law of war and international relations, environmental law, etc., and also serve as prosecutors in courts-martial. They also serve as judges in courts-martial.
