Offer Law & Legal Definition

An offer is a specific proposal to enter into an agreement with another. An offer is essential to the formation of an enforceable contract. An offer and acceptance of the offer creates the contract. If the time period in which to accept the offer is not stated in the offer, the offer is presumed to be available until expressly revoked or cancelled by a contradictory offer.
