A phone bank is the organized telephoning of large numbers of people to inform them of a  policy or action or to gather information. This is often done by volunteers who come into a work hall and telephone others during a certain time period.

Phone banks are used by organizations such as unions, political committess, and others. It is a way for callers to make direct contact with others whose support is sought for a particular cause.
