Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office Law and Legal Definition
The Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Office (SAPRO) is an organization under the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). It is responsible for overseeing the DOD’s sexual assault policy. The SAPRO aims to enable military readiness by establishing a culture free of sexual assault.
The DOD is committed towards the prevention of sexual assault. It has implemented a comprehensive policy to ensure the safety, dignity and well being of all members of the Armed Forces. The SAPRO is responsible for the oversight of such policies. The DOD aims to maintain a workplace that rejects sexual assault and reinforces a culture of prevention, response and accountability. The SAPRO works closely with the Services and the civilian community to develop and implement innovative prevention and response programs.
