Snapout Law & Legal Definition
Some Florida courts use a "memorandum of sentence" to adjudicate criminal defendants as guilty. This memorandum of sentence is otherwise known as "snapout." Generally, snapout use is limited to cases imposing only probation or a term in the county jail. In Peterson v. State, 730 So. 2d 830, 831 (Fla. 2d DCA 1999), the Florida Court of Appeals expressed some reservations about the use of snapouts, but stopped short of prohibiting their use.
