Social Security Disability Income Law & Legal Definition
Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) is those benefits paid to a qualified disabled person and some members of his/her family. In order to qualify for SSDI benefits, a person must have worked under those jobs that are covered by social security. S/he must also have a medical condition that meets social security's definition of disability. These benefits continue until a person is able to return to work regularly.
