A transcript is usually prepared by a court reporter and copies of the transcript are typically available to be purchased by the parties, usually on a per-page cost basis. Persons who wish to order copies typicaly purchase them from the court reporting service used by the court in the relevant case. A transcript is commonly used for appeal purposes, to review the lower court proceedings for errors.
