Voluntary Resettlement Agencies [VOLAGs] Law and Legal Definition
Voluntary Resettlement Agencies (VOLAGs) refer to non-profit organizations that provide sponsorship and initial resettlement services for refugees entering the U.S.
VOLAGs are key partners in resettlement process. They are responsible for refugee resettlement throughout the state as well as assisting refugees in issues such as employment, English-language training, health service referrals, and housing. The U.S. Department of State has cooperative agreements with VOLAGs to deliver refugee reception and placement services.
