WAIS-III Law & Legal Definition
WAIS III stands for the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scales-version lll . It is the most used and accepted intellegence test for adults, often used by psychologists in aforensic or custody evaluation. Wechsler's tests provide three scores: 1: a verbal IQ (IQ is an abbreviation for "intelligence quotient"), 2: a performance IQ, 3: a composite, single IQ score based on the combined scores.
