Absence Rate [Employment Law] Law and Legal Definition
Absence rate is the ratio of workers with absences to their credit to total full-time wage and salary employment. Absences are instances when persons who usually work thirty five or more hours per week worked less than thirty five hours during the week due to own illness, injury, or medical problems; childcare problems; other family or personal obligations; civic or military duty; and maternity or paternity leave. This data is collected by the current population survey.
