Abstractions Test Law and Legal Definition
Abstraction test is a test applied in copyright law to identify the similarity of copyrighted materials. This test is applied mainly to check whether the non-literal elements of a computer program are copied or not. The three steps followed in the test to check similarity are:
1. abstraction;
2. filtration; and
3. comparison.
This test is also known as the Abstraction-Filtration-Comparison test.
