Acceptor Supra Protest Law and Legal Definition
Acceptor Supra Protest is a legal maxim which refers to a third person who accepts a protested bill or contract on behalf of another. This maxim is used mainly in case of contracts or bill where honoring is done for the benefit of the principal or the drawer. In such cases the third party so acting will have the same obligations as that of the person for whom s/he has acted. Additionally the third person has a remedy only against the person on whose behalf s/he acts.
For example an agent accepts a bill for the drawer, where the bill is earlier declined to be accepted.
