Accidental Death Clause Law and Legal Definition
Accidental death clause is a provision in a life insurance policy whereby, in case of death due to accident, twice or three times the amount of death benefit is paid to the beneficiary. This is a benefit is given to the beneficiary in addition to the death benefit only if the death occurs due to an accident. These policies are subject to certain restrictions, like the age of the insured and number of days the death occurs after the accident. This is also termed as accidental means provision or accidental result provision.
