Accounting for fruits is a term used in civil law and it refers to a claim for the return of natural or civil fruits against an adverse possessor or other person obligated by law or contract to account for fruits. Natural fruit refers to a product of the land or of animals and civil fruits refer to revenue derived from a thing by operation of law or by reason of a juridical act, such as lease or interest payments.
