Accumulative Sentence Law and Legal Definition
Accumulative sentence is a court's formal pronouncement of the legal consequences of a person's conviction of a crime, additional to others. This sentence is provided to a defendant who is convicted for an indictment that includes several counts. Each of such count should charge a different offense. A convict should finish one sentence before being allowed to start the next one. Accumulative sentence is also known as cumulative or consecutive sentence.
