Actual Allegiance Law and Legal Definition
Actual allegiance means the allegiance owed by a person to a foreign country’s government in which s/he temporarily resides, for the protection which such foreign government affords to him/her. Actual allegiance will continue up to the period the person remains in the foreign government’s dominion and protection. Likewise, it will cease the moment the person transfers himself/herself from that state to another state. Foreign sovereigns, their representatives and military personnel’s need not owe actual allegiance. Actual allegiance is also called as local allegiance.
