Ad Colligendum Bona Defuneti Law and Legal Definition
Ad Colligendum Bona Defuneti means to collect the property of a deceased. When a person dies without appointing an executor or administrator to take care of his/her property the court can appoint a person for collecting and preserving the assets of the deceased until another administrator can be found or appointed. A special letter is issued to one or more persons authorizing them to collect and preserve the goods of a deceased person.
