Additional Instruction Law and Legal Definition
Additional instruction means a jury instruction outside the original instructions. It is usually given in response to the jury’s question about the evidence or some point of law. Where additional instructions are required, lawyers are allowed to submit for pinpoint jury instructions. Such pinpoint instructions would better illustrate for the jury the particular relevant legal issues. The jury can also ask for additional instruction regarding the meaning of a jury instruction. It is also termed as further instruction.
