Address Resolution Protocol Law and Legal Definition
The Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) is a method for finding a host's Ethernet address from its IP address. This is usually applicable in computer networking using the internet protocol suite. The sender broadcasts an ARP packet containing the Internet address of another host and waits for the same or some other host to return its Ethernet address.
