Adequate and Independent Decision Law and Legal Definition
An "adequate and independent" state court decision is defined as one “which rests on a state law ground that is independent of the federal question and adequate to support the judgment." Maples v. Allen, 586 F.3d 879, 895 (11th Cir. Ala. 2009)
