Adjust Status [Immigration] Law and Legal Definition
Adjust status means to go from a non-immigrant status to immigrant status. It means changing status to a permanent resident commonly known as the green card.
Adjustment of status of non immigrant to that of person admitted for permanent residence is provided in 8 USCS § 1255.
