Administration on Developmental Disabilities Law and Legal Definition
Administration on Developmental Disabilities is a governmental organization which is responsible for implementation of the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act of 2000. The mission of Administration on Developmental Disabilities is to improve and increase services to and assure that individuals with developmental disabilities have opportunities to make their own choices. Administration on Developmental Disabilities also provides the disabled individuals to contribute to society, have supports to live independently, and to ensure that they are free of abuse, neglect, financial and sexual exploitation and violations of their legal and human rights. The major goal of the Administration on Developmental Disabilities is for grantees to partner with state governments, local communities and the private sector to assist people with developmental disabilities by helping them to reach their maximum potential through increased independence, productivity and integration within the community.
