Administrative Debt [Education] Law and Legal Definition
According to 34 CFR 34.3 [Title 34 – Education; Subtitle A -- Office of the Secretary, Department of Education; Part 34 -- Administrative Wage Garnishment], the term administrative debt means “a debt that does not arise from an individual's obligation to repay a loan or an overpayment of a grant received under a student financial assistance program authorized under Title IV of the Higher Education Act.”
