Administrator Law and Legal Definition
Administrator can refer to
- A person who manages or heads a business, public office, department or agency. For example a court administrator is an official who supervises the non judicial functions of the court such as the court’s calendar, judicial assignments, budget and non judicial staff.
- A person appointed by the probate court to manage the assets and liabilities of a person who dies without a will or without naming an executor. Earlier the term was used to refer only to males and females were referred to as administratix. Now the term is used to refer to someone of either sex. In restatement of property , administrator includes executor unless it is specifically stated otherwise.
