Adopt Date [Hearing] Law and Legal Definition
An adopt date is the date a decision is adopted by a judge or Presiding Judge. Such decision can be either final or proposed. The adopt date and the adopt due date may or may not be on the same date. Generally, the support staff documents the date a final decision was adopted by a judge. This is done by affixing a “date stamp” to the decision cover page, if this is not dated by the judge.
The support staff documents the date when a proposed decision was adopted by a Presiding Judge. This is done by affixing an “adopt stamp” to the decision cover page. In the case of a proposed decision adopted by Action of Law, the date on which the proposed decision was adopted shall be documented by the support staff by affixing an “Adopted by Action of Law stamp” to the decision cover page.
