Adoption Revocation Law and Legal Definition
Adoption Revocation is the legal withdrawal of an agreement to adoption by the birth parents. Circumstances and time limits for revocation are established by States. States may allow revocation of consent if proper notice has not been given to involved parties, such as the birthfather. Most states allow for revocation of consent because of fraud or duress on the part of the attorney, agency or adoptive parents. If proper legal procedures were not followed, revocation of consent may be allowed in many states.
