Adult Day Services (ADS) (Health Care) Law and Legal Definition
Adult day services (ADS) are community-based centers that provide care and supervision to consumers who need supervision, social support, or assistance with daily activities and who attend the facility during day time or night time hours, but are not residents of the facility.
ADS offers a variety of activities such as daily living skills training as well as leisure and recreational activities during working hours. ADS will first understand the needs of the person served and then offer services according to their need. ADS program is also known as ‘day habilitation programs or day activity programs, or day programs.
