Adult Learner [Education] Law and Legal Definition
According to 34 CFR 1100.5 (b) [Title 34 – Education; Subtitle B -- Regulations of the Offices of the Department of Education; Chapter XI -- National Institute for Literacy; Part 1100 -- National Institute for Literacy: Literacy Leader Fellowship Program; Subpart A – General], the term adult learner means “an individual over 16 years old who is pursuing or has completed some form of literacy or basic skills training, including preparation for the G.E.D. (General Educational Development).”
