Adult Volunteer Law and Legal Definition
According to 42 USCS § 12511 (Title 42, The Public Health and Welfare; Chapter 129, National and Community Service; National and Community Service Grant Program; General Provisions), the term "adult volunteer" means “an individual, such as an older adult, an individual with a disability, a parent, or an employee of a business or public or private nonprofit organization, who--
(A) works without financial remuneration in an educational institution to assist students or out-of-school youth; and
(B) is beyond the age of compulsory school attendance in the State in which the educational institution is located.” (42 USCS § 12511)
