Adulterated Law and Legal Definition
Adulterated means to make something impure by adding foreign or inferior ingredients. Adulteration can be done to edible goods or other commercial goods. The act of adulteration is a crime in most countries.
The following is an example of state statute (Alabama) defining the term Adulterated.
According to Code of Ala. § 2-27-2, Adulterated applies to any pesticide if its strength or purity falls below the professed standard or quality as expressed on labeling or under which it is sold, or if any substance has been substituted wholly or in part for the article or if any valuable constituent of the article has been wholly or in part abstracted.
