Advance-fee talent service refers to an agency or person who charges or receives an advance fee from an artist for doing certain services. Advance-fee talent services charges money upfront and then attempts to procure employment for their clients. Their services include procuring, offering, or attempting to procure employment or engagements for an artist. Managing the development of the artist's career as an artist is also part of the service. Guidance will be given to prepare the artist for employment as an artist.
