Advisory office action refers to an office action in which the patent examiner replies to the response of an applicant after the final rejection of the application. An advisory office action is also known as advisory action. An advisory action addresses the status of an amendment made in the applicant's response to the final rejection and addresses an affidavit or exhibit, or responds to a request for reconsideration. Advisory action indicates the status of the claims for appeal.
