Advowson Donative Law and Legal Definition
Advowson donative means the bishop’s right to nominate a minister to officiate in a church by way of agift or a deed of donation, without any presentation to the bishop. Advowson donative owners possessed extraordinary privileges by law. His/her right of patronage was exercised without presentation of his/her nominee to the bishop. The Benefices Act of 1898 converted the advowson donative to advowson presentative. It is also called as donative advowson
