Aequa Manu Law and Legal Definition
Aequa manu is Latin term meaning, “in equal hand”. It is also a legal principle referring to property held indifferently between two parties. Under this principle, parties are obliged to deposit the instrument of property in the hands of a neutral third person. Aequa manu is also known as in aequali manu. [Martin v. Martin, 39 Va. 495 (Va. 1842)].
