Affiliated Company (Gaming Law) Law and Legal Definition
Affiliated Company is a subsidiary company that is controlled by a separate higher entity and is engaged in the business of gaming activities. The affiliated company may be called a company, corporation, or limited liability company. It can also be a government or state-owned enterprise. Thee controlling company is its parent company.
Following is an example for a state statute (Nevada) [Nev. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 463.4825] defining the term Affiliated company :
"Affiliated company" defined.
"Affiliated company" means a subsidiary company, holding company, intermediate company or any other form of business organization that:
1. Controls, is controlled by or is under common control with a licensee which is a corporation or limited-liability company; and
2. Is involved in gaming activities in this state or involved in the ownership of property in this state upon which gaming is conducted.
