Agnati Law and Legal Definition
Agnati refers to the members of an ancient Roman family who traced their name and lineage through the male line to a common deceased ancestor. In law, agnati is relations exclusively in the male line or relations on the father's side. They are different from the cognati, they being relations on the mother's side.
