Agricultural Education Law and Legal Definition
Agricultural education provides instruction about crop production, livestock management, soil and water conservation, and other aspects of agriculture. It also includes instruction in food education. For example, nutrition. Food education improves the quality of life for all people. Food education helps the farmers to increase production, conserve resources, and provide nutritious foods.
Main fields of agricultural education are:
(1)Elementary agriculture- elementary agriculture deals with the process of growth in plants and animals. Formation and conservation of soil is also dealt with in elementary education. Elementary agriculture is taught in public schools;
(2)Vocational agriculture- Vocational agricultural trains people for jobs in such areas as production, marketing, and conservation ;
(3)College agriculture- college agriculture gives training to people to teach, conduct research, and provide information to advance the field of agriculture; and
(4)General education agriculture-general education agriculture informs the public about food and agriculture.
