Airplane Law and Legal Definition
According to 14 CFR 1.1 [Title 14: Aeronautics and Space: Chapter I -- Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Transportation], airplane means an engine-driven fixed-wing aircraft heavier than air, that is supported in flight by the dynamic reaction of the air against its wings.
