Air Search and Rescue Team Law and Legal Definition
Air search and rescue team means a team constituted with public safety professionals and volunteers who provide airlift and other special services to locate and save people believed to be in danger of perishing. Air search and rescue team uses aircraft, surface craft, specialized rescue teams and equipment to search for and rescue personnel in distress on land or at sea. They usually use the facilities and services of available federal, state and local agencies.
