Air Weapon Law and Legal Definition
An air weapon refers to an air rifle, airgun or air pistol. An air weapon differs from a conventional firearm by the fact that it, and the pellets discharged, do not contain any explosive substance. The term includes weapons powered by compressed carbon dioxide.

A pellet gun used as a compressed-air weapon is a dangerous weapon calculated or likely to produce great bodily harm. [State v. Seipold, 190 Wis. 2d 469 (Wis. Ct. App. 1994)].
