Alarm Threshold [Energy] Law and Legal Definition
According to 10 CFR 74.4 [Title 10 – Energy; Chapter I -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission; Part 74 -- Material Control and Accounting of Special Nuclear Material; Subpart A -- General Provisions] the term Alarm Threshold means “a predetermined quantity of SSNM (Strategic Special Nuclear Material) calculated from the specified probability of detection for a given loss and the standard deviation associated with a material control test. An alarm threshold serves to trigger a response action.”
