ALI Law and Legal Definition
ALI is the abbreviated form of American Law Institute. ALI is a private organization consisting of practicing lawyers, judges, and legal scholars. ALI was formed to promote consistency, clarification and simplification of American Law and its better adaptation to social needs by drafting and publishing restatements of law and other model codes and legal studies. The ALI was established in 1923 by a group of prominent American Lawyers and judges who thought that the early 20th century law would be too complex and uncertain. They improved law and administration of justice in a scholarly and scientific manner.
