Alternate Non-Emergency Services Provider Law and Legal Definition
An Alternative non-emergency services provider is a health care provider, such as a physician's office, community health center, hospital outpatient department, health care clinic or similar health care provider, that provides clinically suitable services for the diagnosis or treatment of a condition concurrent with the provision of non-emergency services that are provided for diagnosis or treatment of a condition in an emergency department of a hospital that is participating in the medicaid program [42 USCS § 1396o-1 (e)(4) (B)].
