American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) is an organization that coordinates information regarding medical specialties and certification in medicine and disseminates such information to the public, government and the medical profession. It is the central organization under which the 24 certifying medical boards function. It tells the health care consumer about the training and examinations offered by the health care specialties.
